Jobs in Buffalo

Lately, with gasoline prices as they are, I have found myself exploring more of the city then engaging in the usual trips south for weekend mountain biking. The city is on the verge of a small rebirth of sorts. Keeping in mind that this city needs to be smaller; smaller government, smaller goals, etc., I am becoming impressed with the small neighborhoods in the city. Unlike Pittsburgh, which is largely a working city, where commuters flood the city for work, then race out to live, Buffalo is a living city, a place where people live.

But where are the jobs? What has Mayor Byron Brown or County Executive Chris Collins done to bring jobs to the area? This city has tons; character, capability, desire and burdensome politicians (for another day). We just need jobs. So many of our capable college graduates flee town with diplomas in hand.

This city is ready to excel, this city is ready to be proud, nearly everything is in place.

But where are the jobs? Mayor, County Executive, what are you doing to bring business to Buffalo?
